The Lost Boy

In good old days, there was a boy,
A little shy, a little coy;
He had a life, happy and gay
Having fun all night and day…
In those days, he had no fear;
Never did his eyes glisten with tear.

Then came a day, when he went to school,
In order not to remain a ‘fool’
That’s what elders gave as excuse
And he was naïve not to see the ruse.
Soon his life began to take a turn
He went to classes and started to learn.

As days passed by, he gained knowledge
His happiness and life split with a deeper wedge.
The more he learnt, the more he knew,
“He could not start his life anew.”

Today, he stands at a point where
He has a happy past and an uncertain future.
He wonders nowadays, where is the boy,
Who was a little shy, a little coy;
Where is his life, happy and gay,
Where is his funfilled night and day…
